How to crack phone interviews???
Most employers across the globe implement telephonic interview methods as a way of identifying and
recruiting employees.
Telephonic interviews are frequently used to screen candidates in order to condense the bulk of applicants
who are called for a one on one interview.
While we are in the modus operandi of searching a job, it is important to be ready anytime for a phone interview.
A recruiter may call you up and ask you if it is a good time to talk to you.
"Hello there. I'm calling from XYZ Corporation regarding a job oppurtunity. Is this a good
time to talk with you????????".
Its better to handle that call, because
many times the recruiter may not call you back, and you may miss your Golden chance of a lifetime.
So be ready and be confident enough to speak. If you get the call within your office hours, run out as if you
are in urgency of rushing to the loo.
You must note down the following tips while handling a Telephonic technical interview
1 - Keep website interview questions, Interview notes in front of you. But make sure you dont make that
silly noise of turning pages & bustling keyboard tappings.
2 - Keep a copy of your resume's gist in your pocket. That might help you explaining your work experience,
your projects, interests, hobbies, background etc. without those uhss & hmmms in the call. It will help you
be spontaneous.
3 - Be aware about the company calling you, just in case you are aware that you are about to get
a call.
4 - Turn off all disturbances (TV, other phones, etc.) during this all important call.
5 - Make sure you note down the details of the recruiter, because there may be thousands who may
call you.
6 - Do not be afraid asking questions. You just need to learn the art of being polite enough & taking out
information from the recruiter. This information may be about the company, about the designation, the hierarchy.
the kind of work you are being offered etc. And be bold enough to quote a big package. There are millions of
companies around & you are surely going to get great figure that you deserve.
7 - You need to listen to each & every part of the conversation extremely carefully. You need to be a good
listener.
